The 1852 Proof Queen Victoria Half Penny coin, engraved by William Wyon, and made of copper. Weighing 9.45 grams, with a diameter of 28 mm, and a thickness of 2.12 mm, and featuring a plain edge.
The obverse is first uncrowned portrait ('young head') of queen victoria left, legend around, date below. It reads "VICTORIA DEI GRATIA 1854". The reverse is seated figure of britannia right, with trident in left hand and shield bearing the union flag in right, legend around and national flower emblems in exergue. It reads "BRITANNIAR: REG: FID: DEF:".
