The American Silver Eagle coin is the official silver bullion of the United States Mint, and has been produced since 1986. It's one of the most popular coins produced by the U.S. Mint, and an important and highly collectible piece of American numismatic history.
The Silver Eagle is struck from .999 fine silver, and contains one troy ounce of silver. This coin features the iconic Walking Liberty design, created by sculptor Adolph A. Weinman in 1916, which has become a classic piece of American artistry. The obverse features Lady Liberty with an American flag draped over her shoulders, walking forward with strength and determination. The reverse features a majestic bald eagle in a heraldic pose, representing the strength and pride of the United States.
The Silver Eagle is one of the few U.S. coins to feature different designs on each side. It is also one of the few coins struck by the U.S. Mint to include both a date and a mint mark. The date can be found on the obverse, while the mint mark can be found on the reverse of the coin.
The Silver Eagle was first released in 1986 and has since become a collector’s favorite. It has endured several years of increasing in value, largely due to its high silver content as well as its popularity and collectability. As of 2020, the bullion coin has climbed to record levels of more than $25 US Dollars (USD) per ounce.
The Silver Eagle series is also a favorite of investors who are looking to put their money into tangible assets that have actual worth and not just promise. This coin is widely accepted by bullion dealers and collectors, alike, and is widely available from most coin and bullion dealers.
For those looking for a unique way to invest in silver, the American Silver Eagle is a top choice. It is a beautiful coin that is a lasting reminder of the strength and resilience of the United States.
