Platinum led all metals this week with a 2.6% gain to $1,842.90 an ounce, while silver slipped just 0.3% to $66.42 — a gentle reminder that your junk silver is holding its ground even as gold gives back a full percent. If you're sitting on a stack of 90% halves, this week's $0.08 melt dip barely stings.

The United States Mint released its 2026 Uncirculated Coin Set on June 30 at $124.50, giving collectors one of only three Mint products containing a 2026 Lincoln cent in any finish. The 20-coin set pairs 10 Philadelphia coins on a blue card with 10 Denver coins on a red card, each encapsulated for viewing from both sides and including the full Semiquincentennial lineup of one-year-only designs. Secondary-market premiums on the 2026 cent had already climbed ahead of the Mint Set's release, driven by strong demand for the broader class of 1776 ~ 2026 coinage.
