LuckyCoin Weekly — July 14, 2026

July 14, 2026

Silver gave back 4.0% this week, its sharpest single-week drop in recent memory, and if you're holding 90% silver or American Silver Eagles, you felt it. An ASE's melt value fell to $57.59 — down $2.38 from last week — while a Morgan or Peace dollar shed $1.84, landing at $44.54. Gold wasn't spared either, sliding 2.6% to $4,000.06, the psychologically significant four-thousand-dollar level that felt solid just a week ago.

Stack's Bowers June 2026 Showcase Hits Nearly $13.2 Million — Summer Record

Stack's Bowers Galleries set a Summer Showcase Auction record with nearly $13.2 million in realized prices across rare coins, medals, and more — a headline result that underscores just how active the collector market remains even as spot metals pull back. Strong bidding was reported across diverse categories, reinforcing what PNG's new president called a "new frontier" driven by younger collectors and strong cross-market demand. For sellers, the gap between melt and collector premium has rarely looked wider.

Liberty Bell-Shaped Gold Coins Go on Sale July 16 — First Non-Round U.S. Coins in Over a Century

The U.S. Mint's "Freedom Ringing" Liberty Bell coins and silver medal go on sale July 16 at noon EDT, becoming the first non-round coins the Mint has struck since the octagonal Panama-Pacific $50 gold piece in 1915. Available in half-ounce gold, one-ounce gold, and half-ounce silver, all pieces were hand-loaded and struck in Philadelphia's Research and Development Lab. The designs pair the Bell and dual date 1776 ~ 2026 on the obverse with Independence Hall and celebratory fireworks on the reverse — and quantities are strictly limited.

NGC's $2,500 July 4th Quarter Bounty Has Been Claimed — But Keep Checking Your Change

NGC's $2,500 July 4th Quarter Bounty Has Been Claimed — But Keep Checking Your Change

The U.S. Mint struck 250,000 special 2026 Declaration of Independence quarters with a "JULY 4th" privy mark and released them randomly into circulation through banks nationwide ahead of Independence Day. NGC put a $2,500 cash bounty on the first submission from a paid collector member — and that bounty has now been claimed. The coin carries no P or D mint mark, setting it apart from the standard Declaration quarters; if you find one in your change, it's still worth sending in for grading and the America250 certification label.

The silver slide hit every junk silver denomination in lockstep: 90% dimes dropped to $4.16 (-$0.17), quarters to $10.41 (-$0.43), and halves to $20.83 (-$0.86) — a clean 4% haircut across the board that mirrors spot to the cent. With platinum and palladium also in the red, this was a broad precious-metals pullback, not a silver-specific story.
