Silver's worst week in months landed hard on junk-silver holders: spot fell 4.1% to $59.03/oz, and that drop translated directly into melt values. If you're sitting on rolls of 90% halves, each one shed $0.92 this week — and a full Morgan or Peace dollar is now carrying $1.97 less than it was seven days ago. Palladium was the lone bright spot in the metals complex, up 1.3%, but for most of us that's cold comfort.

The 2026 U.S. Mint Uncirculated Coin Set launched this morning (June 30) at noon ET, priced at $124.50 with a cap of 300,000 sets and a household order limit of 10. The 20-coin P-and-D set is one of only three Mint products in which collectors can obtain a 2026 Lincoln cent — and unlike the sold-out Silver Proof Set, this one is the only source for an uncirculated example. With the cent no longer struck for general circulation, it's shaping up as the sleeper of the set for long-term collectors.

Mint Director Hollis announced on June 23 that 250,000 Declaration of Independence quarters bearing no mint mark but stamped with a special July 4 privy mark will be secretly mixed into the Declaration quarters already flowing to banks — turning everyday pocket change into a national treasure hunt ahead of Independence Day. The Declaration quarter itself entered circulation on May 25 and features Thomas Jefferson on the obverse and the Liberty Bell on the reverse with the dual date 1776~2026. Check your change.

Stack's Bowers Galleries' June 2026 Showcase Auction, held in conjunction with the Whitman Expo in Baltimore, spread across seven sessions and more than 3,200 lots. The highlights were outsized: a 1921 Harding Inaugural medal in silver (fewer than 10 known) and a 1945 Franklin Roosevelt Inaugural gold medal — the very specimen FDR presented to Saudi Arabian King Ibn Saud in the waning days of World War II. Both pieces anchored the inaugural medal-focused Session 1 on June 15.
