LuckyCoin Weekly — July 28, 2026

July 28, 2026

Silver posted its biggest weekly gain of the summer, jumping 3.6% to $58.39 an ounce — and every coin in your junk silver box moved with it. A pre-1965 dime now carries $4.22 in melt value, up $0.15 in a single week. If you've been sitting on rolls of 90% silver halves, each one is worth $21.12 in metal alone before any collector premium enters the conversation.

July 4 Privy Quarter Prices Slide as More Examples Surface

The eBay frenzy around the 250,000-mintage 2026 July 4 privy mark quarters has cooled fast. Early completed listings in late June fetched $800–$2,650; by July 24, a CoinNews survey of 54 listings found prices ranging from $165 to $300, with most clustering near $200. The standard Declaration of Independence quarter entered circulation June 1, making the no-mint-mark privy version — distinguished by a "JULY 4th" mark left of Jefferson's portrait — the scarce find in pocket change.

Enhanced Uncirculated 1776-2026 Silver Eagle Now on Sale

The U.S. Mint launched the 2026-W Enhanced Uncirculated American Silver Eagle on July 21, pairing laser-frosted design elements with an unpolished field — a finish used only once previously in the series. The coin carries the dual date 1776~2026 and ships in a satin-lined black velvet presentation case with an outer Semiquincentennial sleeve. With silver at $58.39 spot this week, the melt alone covers nearly the full issue price before the finish or anniversary premium factor in.
