The 1816 King George III Shilling coin, engraved by Benedetto Pistrucci, and made of silver (.925). Weighing 5.66 grams, with a diameter of 24 mm, and a thickness of 1.2 mm, and featuring a reeded edge.
The obverse is new laureate portrait of king george iii right, legend around, date below. It reads "GEOR:III D:G: BRITT:REX F:D: 1816". The reverse is ornate crowned royal shield overlaid with smaller crowned shield, all within garter. It reads "HONI·SOIT·Q MAL·Y·PENSE·".
