The 1888 Queen Victoria 4 Pence coin, engraved by William Wyon, and made of silver (.925). Weighing 1.89 grams, with a diameter of 16 mm, and featuring a reeded (plain edge varieties exist) edge.
The obverse is young uncrowned bust of queen victoria left, hair in bun, legend around. It reads "VICTORIA D:G: BRITANNIAR: REGINA F:D:". The reverse is seated figure of britannia right, trident in left hand, shield with union flag in right, denomination around, date in exergue. It reads "FOUR PENCE 1848".
