The 2005 Privy Mark A Palladium Maple Leafs coin, struck at the Royal Canadian Mint mint, engraved by Susan Taylor, and made of palladium (.9995). Weighing 31.1035 grams, with a diameter of 30 mm, and a thickness of 2.9 mm, and featuring a reeded edge.

The obverse is head of queen elizabeth ii, as at 77 years of age, bare headed, wearing necklace and earrings, facing right. . It reads "ELIZABETH II 50 DOLLARS 2005". The reverse is canada, 9995 fine palladium, 1 oz palladium pur on reverse. It reads "CANADA 9995 9995 FINE PALLADIUM 1 OZ PALLADIUM PUR".
