The obverse is head of queen elizabeth ii, as at 77 years of age, bare headed, wearing necklace and earrings, facing right. It reads "ELIZABETH II 1 DOLLAR 2005". The reverse is classic maple leaf design, surrounded by lettering. It reads "CANADA 9999 9999 FINE GOLD 1/20 OZ OR PUR".
