The obverse is bust of queen elizabeth ii, as at 37 years of age, wearing tiara, facing right. It reads "ELIZABETH II D·G·REGINA". The reverse is a voyageur and an aboriginal paddling a birch-bark canoe by an islet on which there are two wind-swept trees. the vertical lines in the background represent the northern lights. surrounded with the date, the face value and the inscription "canada". one bundle has lettering "hb" for hudson's bay company. designer: emanuel hahn. It reads "CANADA HB EH 1975 DOLLAR".
