The 1912 King George V Sovereign coin, engraved by Edgar Bertram MacKennal, and made of gold (.9167). Weighing 7.99 grams, with a diameter of 22 mm, and featuring a reeded edge.
The obverse is uncrowned portrait of king george v left, legend around. It reads “GEORGIVS V D.G.BRITT:OMN:REX F.D.IND:IMP:”. The reverse is st george riding horse, facing right, wearing helmet and cape, holding sword in right hand, slaying dragon below, date and designer's initials in exergue. note: mintmark varieties exist (see below). It reads “1925 B.P.”.
