The 1937 Proof King George VI Penny coin, engraved by Thomas Humphrey Paget, and made of bronze. Weighing 9.45 grams, with a diameter of 30.8 mm, and a thickness of 1.6 mm, and featuring a plain edge.

The obverse is uncrowned portrait of king george vi left, legend around. note: with title 'ind:imp'. It reads “GEORGIVS VI D:G:BR:OMN:REX F:D:IND:IMP. HP”. The reverse is seated figure of britannia right, with trident in left hand and shield bearing the union flag in right, sea behind with lighthouse to left, denomination above and date in exergue. It reads “ONE PENNY 1948”.
