The 1938 Estados Unidos Type 3 5 Cents coin, made of copper-nickel, and weighing 4 grams. With a diameter of 20.5 mm, and a thickness of 1.6 mm, and featuring a smooth edge.
The obverse is the mexican coat of arms (a mexican golden eagle perched on a prickly pear cactus devouring a rattlesnake. at the base there is a holm oak (encina) branch on one side and a laurel branch on the other) and the country name above. It reads “ESTADOS UNIDOS MEXICANOS”. The reverse is the outer circles of the mexica, or aztec, sun stone, with the year, mintmark (m), and 5 centavos, in the center. It reads “1936 M 5 CENTAVOS”.
