The 1979 Specimen Queen Elizabeth II Cent coin, struck at the Royal Canadian Mint mint, engraved by Dora de Pédery-Hunt, and made of copper plated zinc. Weighing 2.25 grams, with a diameter of 19.05 mm, and a thickness of 1.45 mm, and featuring a plain edge.

The obverse is head of queen elizabeth ii, as at 64 years of age, wearing the royal diadem, necklace, and earrings, facing right. It reads “ELIZABETH II D•G•REGINA”. The reverse is a maple twig with the value above, the date to the left, and the country name below. It reads “1CENT 1999 K·G CANADA”.
