The 1939 King George VI Florin coin, made of silver (.925), and weighing 11.31 grams. With a diameter of 28.5 mm, and a thickness of 2.3 mm, and featuring a milled edge.
The obverse is portrait of king george vi facing left. It reads “GEORGIVS VI D:G:BR:OMN:REX F:D:IND:IMP. HP”. The reverse is coat of arms of the commonwealth of australia, composed of a shield divided into six parts, each containing a representation of the badge of a state. the shield is supported by a kangaroo and an emu standing on a grassy mound accompanied by small branches of wattle. above the shield is a crown instead of the federation star. It reads “FLO RIN K·G 1939 AUSTRALIA”.
